  • Founder of NGO (Community Health Education Society) for Orphans who have HIV AIDS -1994.
  • Fought for the rights of the Transgender. (Organized the Beauty contest for them at Villupuram)

Instrumental in acquiring ONE CENT of Land free from Government of Tamilnadu for 20 Transgender at Villupuram.

Developed a Community Based Organisation for Transgenders Called “THAA” Designer of Program Outreach Activities

  • Organised various successful projects in STD/HIV/AIDS prevention and Care
  • Educated nearly 5000 FSW
  • Trains doctors, a program by CDC
  • Educates school & college students on Reproductive, Sexual Health, Women & Child Health

Contributions to Children affected with AIDS

  • Designed the various models of Care for children infected and affected by AIDS
  • Architect of the OVC Home based care program, the first of its kind in India
  • Takes care of Cradle babies with HIV anywhere in TN
  • Her RAAP study was used as a base for the development of strategies for the Phase III of NACO which started to lay emphasis on children and HIV
  • Developed a policy documents for UNICEF on “ Policy issues of AIDS Orphans”
  • A policy document on children affected by AIDS” for TANSACS
  • Recently involved in developing “Operational Guidelines for the TN Trust for children affected by AIDS”
